Description

Rhizomex: Regenerating biodiversity by eliminating Japanese knotweed and recycling its components. Asian knotweed is an invasive alien plant species whose proliferation threatens to erode biodiversity. They are on the IUCN's list of the 100 most problematic species. In order to offer a global solution based on the circular economy, Rhizomex has developed a business based on two distinct but complementary activities. The first is based on on-site elimination of Asian knotweed, eliminating the need to transport infested materials and making the cleaned-up site usable as soon as the worksite is completed. The second involves extracting the components of the knotweed to produce purified resveratrol, an antioxidant used in the cosmetics industry, using an innovative ultrasound process.
